BODY COMPOSITION SCREENING

Unlocking your true potential begins with understanding your body's composition. Let the numbers guide you toward a healthier, stronger you.

Body Comp Assessments

Your body fat percentage can be determined through various methods, including hydrostatic weighing, Dexa Scan, Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), plethysmograph (BodPod), and skinfold analysis, among others.

If you've taken part in our Cardio-Metabolic Exercise Profile, a skinfold analysis is included. The newer state-of-the-art DEXA and MRI scans are now considered the gold standard. However, nearly all of the mentioned methods are effective for evaluating changes in body fat and lean mass over time.

Your Ideal Composition

Ideal body weight is determined by comparing your fat weight to your lean body weight. An optimal ratio between these two factors falls within a range of 8-19 percent fat for males and 16-27 percent for females, taking age into account.

You can reduce fat weight by increasing cardiovascular exercise (4-6 days per week), enhancing lean body weight through resistance exercise (2-3 days a week), and lowering your dietary intake—especially cutting back on fat and sugar consumption.

It's worth noting that approximately 70% of successful body fat reduction can be attributed to dietary changes.

Special note on weight loss and body fat reduction

Rapid weight loss is not recommended, as it often results in the loss of significant lean body tissue (such as muscle), leading to even higher percentages of body fat. To prevent the loss of lean tissue, it's advised not to exceed a weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week.
